About Me

My photo
Chicago area, Illinois, United States
I draw my inspiration from the decorative arts and architecture of the Arts and Crafts Movement of the early 20th century. My work is a modern interpretation of the pottery of this era. I use matte glazes that absorb rather than reflect light and that draw attention to the simplicity of strong and elegant form. My vases, platters, wall pockets, and bowls employ geometric additions and architectural elements with angular handles and buttresses that gracefully merge with the forms.
